OUR STORY
In 2016, Phil, Anna and their family were invited by Bishop Alastair to gather a team of people and plant a church at St Werburgh’s in Derby.
St Werburgh’s is an iconic building and was sold off as a church about 30 years ago, it has been an indoor market and Chinese restaurant and was completely closed for 7 years.
On the 17th September 2017, St Werburgh’s reopened its doors with an evening service, which was the first to be held there for many decades.
Since then we’ve launched both AM and PM services as well as planted two churches across the city:
In 2020 the diocese of Derby invited Andy and Rachel Bond together with their young family to lead a group of people from St Werburgh’s to help revitalise and re-energise St. Francis Mackworth on the Mackworth Estate.
The church has grown exponentially in that time and has become a huge blessing to the community in Mackworth.

In 2023 we sent Jeff and Kim Golding along with a team of around 50 to revitalise St.Edmund’s church in Allenton & Shelton Lock.
The church is going from strength to strength, serving their community and following the way of Jesus together.
