Before I was a Christian I knew that God was talking to me but I wasn't listening and dismissed the signs. I met Jesus through the Alpha Course and committed myself to him on the Holy Spirit Day on the course. Since then life still has had its challenges but there is comfort now in knowing that God is always by my side.

Genevieve has been a Christian since childhood and has rededicated her life to Jesus. She wishes to get baptised in obedience to God, showing publicly that she is committed to the Lord and she belongs to Him.
Samantha Morgan
Samantha has recently given her life to the Lord and is currently journeying through the alpha course. She is getting baptised because of what Christ has done for her and this act of baptism is a way of publicly showing her commitment to following Jesus.

Alex wants to get baptised to publicly declare that he is a follower of Jesus and that he is committed to Him.

I left Islam in 2016 and lived for nearly 10 years in a spiritual void. On the outside, I appeared free, but inside I felt empty and could find no peace. It was like searching for water in a desert and finding only mirages. Everything changed in 2024 when I reconnected with my old friend, Mehrdad. He spoke to me about the love of Christ with kindness and patience, and in that same year, I gave my heart to Jesus.

I spent more than ten years without following any religion. However, deep inside, I always felt that there is a God who protects us from evil. Then one day, a friend of mine—who is also a relative—introduced me to Christianity. In the end, my faith in Christianity led me to leave my country. Yet from the moment I discovered this faith, I have felt a deep and lasting peace and joy in my life. I truly believe that God created me with endless love and never left me, even when I didn't know Him. My life was full of confusion and searching, but eventually, I found the light of truth in Jesus Christ.

I was born in Iran into a Muslim family, and for many years I lived without a true understanding of God. However, along the path that God had prepared for me, I came to know His Word and Jesus Christ. At a time when I was going through deep emotional struggles, the Holy Bible brought me hope and peace, and the presence of Jesus Christ gradually transformed my life. I came to know a God who is love—who forgives and accepts people just as they are.

Because of my faith in Christianity, I was forced to leave my home, my family, and my homeland. This was not an easy decision, but even in the midst of pain, God never abandoned me. Since coming to this church, I have experienced the true love of Christ through you. My heart has found peace, I have received new hope, and I believe that God has begun a new life in me. As it is written in the Scriptures, "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away; behold, all things have become new." I hold onto this promise with all my heart.

What drew my attention most in Christianity was affection and love. I saw these qualities in Christians and in the scripture and it was one of the greatest gifts in my life. As my faith was growing, peace entered my life and my worries diminished. Even when things got tough, I was not as worried as before. I trusted God and I witnessed how God paved the way for me. An example of this trust and peace was when I had difficulty getting a visa to the UK, which with God's help I managed to overcome this obstacle.

Over time, I embraced the Christian faith, and my life was transformed. This decision was not easy, and I paid a heavy price for it, to the extent that I had to leave my country. Yet, despite all the hardships, I found a peace I had never experienced before.
Today, I stand here to testify that God's love is real and can transform a person's life from darkness into light. When all doors were closed, God opened a door of hope in my heart and guided me toward a light that will never be extinguished.

I struggled at times with anger, anxiety, and a lack of confidence. But I always knew that wasn't the person I was meant to be. Since following God more fully, I have become calmer, more confident, and more open-minded. Over the years, a lot has changed in my life, and I feel more peaceful now because I'm praying for my family, learning more about the Bible, and understanding more about my faith and religion.

Ifeanyi was brought up in a Christian home, he prayed and believed because his parents did. But when he started to read the bible a fire was set on his heart and a feeling of peace rested on him. He is getting baptised to show that this is his personal decision to follow Jesus.
