We turned 2 last week! Can you believe it? From derelict and dead building to alive and thriving family of God. It’s been an incredible 2 years. God has done so much and as Phil has said...the best is yet to come! Who knows what year 3 holds for our growing church family. I’m excited to find out and be a part of the story of God in Derby.

As the summer draws to a close and we enjoy the last weeks of warm sunshine it’s been great to see old and new faces in Werb’s as we’ve begun the new term. One of my favourite things I keep hearing people say about Werb’s again and again is how they have found home here and we long for that to be the case for all who come through our doors.
So, a new term means there’s lots going on! Alpha is starting on Wednesday 2nd October. We had a great time a couple of weeks ago during our #TryAlpha service and were encouraged by Denise to get creative with our fliers and be bold in where we put those and who we give them to. Have you done yours yet?
Werb’s groups are back! If you’ve never been part of a Werb’s group it’s a great way to get to know people within the church in smaller groups. Some of our groups are already full but there are still lots to choose from. Our household management group covers everything from budgeting to putting up a shelf and after putting up a slightly wonky coat rack last week it sounds like I could do with this course! There’s also spaces in our caring for refugees group, running group, craft group, Luke bible study, mental health awareness and early morning prayer. So as our new term begins let’s be praying for our church, for those new to the city, for those looking for a home and for our friends and family and those we don’t know yet - who don’t know Jesus yet. Jesus is at the centre of all we do and His faithfulness and love for us is what builds us and sustains us.
