Hi Werb’s Kids and Werb’s Parents!

How are you today?

Hope you were able to join us this morning online or in person!
The service is now on YouTube if you want to catch up.

If you haven’t managed to join us yet in person and would like to HERE is the link to our services page where you can find all the details and book your places.

We are now only opening bookings for one service at a time to avoid it selling out so quickly. If you want to join us then sign up will be available the Monday before the Sunday so just under a week in advance.

I’ve been adding a new segment into the beginning of each video online all the incredible creations and crafts Werbs Kids have created to show off their amazing work! Whatever you create today or this week, please do email it to me (amy.farrar@stwderby.org) as I’d love to see it and include it in the videos.

I really hope to see you soon so stay safe and stay connected!

JESUS’ BAPTISM

We’re continuing out new series all about following Jesus and how we can learn to be more like him. Remember that word DISCIPLE. We are wanting to learn from Jesus to be more like him and walk in his ways.

Today we are looking at the story of when Jesus got baptised.

But I wondered if you know what happens when someone gets baptised? Or have you ever seen someone get baptised?

Baptism is when someone commits their life to God and decides that they want to be a disciple and follow God’s call for them and promise to try and always follow his ways. Baptism is like an outward sign that showing this choice.

first LET’S PLAY A GAME!

Our story today involves a lot of water so why not have some fun with water!?

You will need

  • Coffee filters or paper

  • Double stick tape

  • Spray bottle or small water gun

Stick the paper or coffee filters on the wall of your shower or above your bath.

Then have fun with target practice. Be careful to only get the water in your bath or shower and not all over the floor as this can be slippery. See how well you can shoot all the targets!

Hopefully this morning you saw Amy’s video this morning and heard the story of when Jesus was baptised.

In case you missed it, it’s on YouTube but below is another video of the story if you’d like to watch that instead.

How great is this story? See if you can use your own toys and maybe the a sink to retell the story.

I love the part in the story where God speaks. Did you hear what he said to Jesus?
That’s right he said ‘this is my son, whom I love and am well pleased’

God showed everyone how much he loved Jesus, he told everyone in a loud voice so they could all hear! And can I tell you something? God thinks the same about you! He looks at you and says WOW this is my child. I love them and I am SUPER pleased and proud of them.

Have you ever read a story called Guess How Much I Love You?
It’s about a daddy rabbit talking to a baby rabbit and they are trying to outdo each other with how much they love each other. Well how much God loves us is kind of like that book but EVEN BETTER AND BIGGER. He loves  us more than anything and more than we can even imagine.

In fact there are some verses from the bible that tell us just this! Amy this morning showed us these verses along with some actions! You can learn it again by watching the service on YouTube or you could create your own actions to the verse. Have some fun with it and see if you can remember it.

ROMANS 8v38+39

I am convinced that nothing—not life or death, angels or demons, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love!

Using this verse, remind yourself just how much God loves you and that he will NEVER EVER stop loving you!

CRAFT TIME!

As mentioned before are DESPERATE to see what you’ve made. We would love to see your crafts and pictures and show them off at our next services online and in person! Please send a picture of ANYTHING you make from this week and Amy will include it in next week’s video!

  1. Some things to do during the talk:

  2. Get creative!

    • Make your own Heart Puzzle

Draw a heart out of card and cut it out. Next draw a picture on the heart. It could be of something you love or a picture of you and God showing how much he loves you.

    • Make your own Heart Bunting

HERE is a video to follow if you like but all you really need to do is cut out triangles or any shape you like and then stick it to string. You can do this by punching holes through the paper or by sticking it over the string.

WORSHIP

We sung this song this morning at church. It’s a great song that talks about Jesus being the way, the truth and the life.

Listen to the song and focus in on the lyrics. Jesus promises to be with us ALWAYS.
Another name we call Jesus is Emmanuel. Emmanuel means God with us. Through whatever you face know that God is with you through everything.

Higher than the mountains that I face
Stronger than the power of the grave
Constant through the trial and the change
One thing remains

Your love never fails, never gives up
never runs out on me

Because on and on and on and on it goes
Before it overwhelms and satisfies my soul
And I never, ever, have to be afraid
One thing remains
