To befriend each other, to depend on Jesus, to extend His love wherever we go.

Here at Werb’s we long to see students find a home with us, to develop their relationships with Jesus, to feel part of the wider church family, and to bring the light and love of Christ to the city of Derby.

Students at Werb’s gather once a month for socials, as well as every Wednesday afternoon in term time for Bible studies, on top of other one-off events that happen throughout the year, including a student weekend away.

Werb’s students is also committed to identifying and providing mentors for students who request them.

If you would like to find out more our Student Pastor, Matt White, is the person to talk to! You can email him (matt.white@stwderby.org) or chat to him on Sunday!

COMMUNITY

Befriending each other

  • Monthly Socials

Our student socials happen every month, usually on Monday evenings, and range from chilled house parties to pub trips to laser-tag! These events are perfect for inviting your friends to as well as a great opportunity to get to know each other more.

  • Sunday Lunches for Students

At different points throughout the year we offer free Sunday lunches to students after the morning service. These lunches are hosted by members of the congregation at Werb’s and will allow you to enjoy some (hopefully!) lovely food in a relaxed and homely environment whilst getting to know more people from the wider church family.

  • Weekend Away

One of the high points of student life at Werb’s is the student weekend away. The weekend away is a precious time and comes complete with a full programme that will often include input from guest speakers. Not to be missed!

DISCIPLESHIP

Depending on Jesus

  • Bible Study

Every week in term time, we gather on Wednesday afternoons to study the Bible together and encourage one another as we seek to deepen our love and understanding of Jesus and of what it means to live well for Him.

Bean Caffe (Friar Gate Studios, DE1 1EE) at 2:30pm. Don’t forget your Bible and something to write on - hope you can make it!

  • Mentoring

We are committed to identifying and providing suitable mentors from the Werb’s church family for students who request them. It’s our hope and prayer that these relationships will be a great source of strength and support.

If you are interested in having a mentor, please do not hesitate to contact our Student Pastor, Matt White (matt.white@stwderby.org). We would absolutely love to find a suitable mentor for you!

MISSION

Extending the love of Jesus wherever we go

  • Alpha

This is a great place to learn more about faith and ask some of life’s big questions.

  • Inviting friends to church services and/or socials

We long for our city to know the love of Jesus and one of the best ways for us to show them is by inviting them to join us - have you got someone in mind that you could invite along to the next Student Social or Sunday Service?

  • Prophetic Evangelism (future Werb’s group)

  • Street Pastors (Derby City Mission)
