Thursday 4th April

Psalm 122: 6-9 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels.” For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, “Peace be within you.” For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your prosperity.

As the church we are called to pray for the peace and prosperity of our city. When the city thrives, the church thrives.

St Werburgh’s is our home, it is God’s house and and we long that it is a home where people are planted and can flourish so that they can go out into the city and speak peace to those around them.

We long that the people in this city would know God’s peace - for those struggling with anxiety, depression, loneliness we want to pray for them to know God’s overwhelming peace today. And for those struggling to make ends meet personally, for their family or within their work and business we want to pray for God’s blessing and prospering upon them today.

Let’s pray for God’s favour on all those we meet today and see what God does in our city.
