Wednesday 10th April

Micah 6:8 But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbour, be compassionate and loyal in your love, and don’t take yourself too seriously— take God seriously.

Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

I’m sure you’ve heard this verse many times before but I thought it was worth repeating and reading in different versions to get a wider understanding. If the world lived by this one verse then it would look like a totally different place. Our prayer and longing today is for justice for so many who in our city, nation or world need to have the people around them act justly towards them.

Today cry out to God to bring change, freedom and life for those who are voiceless, for those who have been trafficked, for those who have been wrongly imprisoned, for those who are far from their home, for those who have been badly treated and are uncared for and feel forgotten and unloved.

Today pray for situations that are on your heart where justice is desperately needed. And pray that God would show us how we are to act, to love and to walk humbly today to bring justice to the people we meet.
