Grateful Psalm 100
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
We have already looked at the importance of thankfulness but as one of our church values is gratitude it is worth looking at again, reminding ourselves again of the importance of being grateful because we so easily forget.
Olivia our youngest daughter, for the past 4 months has kept a prayer diary. Each night we have to write a prayer in it, normally it’s only two sentences long and normally it follows the same format - thank you God for school, thank you God for…..whatever else has struck her from the day. What I have noticed over the past few weeks is that this has overflowed into her speech. She, more regularly than the others, will say thank you to other people, without my prompting her. It flows naturally out of her as she has chosen each night to stop and give thanks.
