But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.

Mark 11:25

God’s forgiveness in this verse seems to relate to our  willingness to forgive which can seem a hard pill to swallow.

Actually we know that because of Jesus we are forgiven and there are no further requirements to that.

But beyond that we see in the Gospels a few examples and parables of where Jesus requires us to then go and do the same...so knowing that we have been forgiven helps us to be able to go and forgive which in so doing brings further freedom and healing for us. Forgiveness, at times, may be for our benefit. As Corrie Ten Boom said ‘Forgiveness is to set a prisoner free and to discover that prisoner was you.’

Today ask God to speak to you and show you if there is anyone you are holding a grudge against and to help you forgive them, to bring freedom for your life.
