  • We run a live-streamed 10.30am family-friendly service and a 5.30pm evening service every Sunday. You can visit our Services page to find out more.  

  • St Werburgh’s can be found on the corner of Friar Gate and Cheapside (DE1 1BU). We are located in the “Cathedral Quarter” and are on several major bus routes running down Friar Gate.

  • The closest car park is Parksafe right next to the church on Bold Lane (DE1 3NT), but it isn’t cheap.

    There is free parking on Sundays on Vernon Street (off of Friar Gate), 5 minute walk from church.

    There is free parking on the surrounding roads after 4pm on a Sunday and after 8pm on weekdays.

    The car park on Abbey Street (about 2 minute walk from church) is also free from 4pm on a Sunday and after 8pm on weekdays.

  • Yes, our entrance on Friar Gate has step-free access.

  • Church is meant to be enjoyed not endured. There will be uplifting music, friendly people and teaching that we believe will encourage, and provoke you to think and that is practical in whatever stage of life you are currently in.

  • We don’t have a dress code at St.Werburgh’s, but in case you are worried, people dress very casually for the most part.

  • We have kids groups at our Sunday morning services for those aged 1-11 as well as a baby space at the back of the church should parents need a quieter space to go during the service. Contact our Children and Families Pastor at hannah.sams@stwderby.org for more information.

  • If you are completely new to church or haven’t been for years then Alpha is a great way to find out more. If you are new to us as a church then do fill in a connect card, email us, follow us on social media and share how you would like to be involved.

    We also hold semi-regular Newcomers lunches which you can find out about by signing up for our mailing list at the bottom of the page.

    New To Werb’s is a three week course that we run once a term that is a helpful space to find out more about who we are.

  • Of course! Come as you are, with your questions and concerns and feel free to ask anything! Many people who have doubts find Alpha a great place to begin exploring their questions.

  • Absolutely! We love using our gifts to build God's church. If you would like to get involved on a team please get in touch with us or sign up online.
